For those that don’t like the CVT…get over it! Yes, the early generation suffered from noise and reliability issues, as well as a different sensory experience that many found unpleasant. The newer designs have addressed these concerns, including a simulated “shift” sensation, which personally I find silly in a non-sports car, but if it makes people more comfortable, so be it. The reality is they will be with us for the foreseeable future given the added performance and fuel economy they eek out of smaller motors. The 41 MPG in this Elantra is within hybrid territory, without the need for more complex and expensive solutions. For most daily drivers, a modern CVT works just fine.😊
