You can’t discuss the ABCs of performance driving without AMG. The Mercedes AMG C 43 4MATIC is the kind of car drivers wake up early for to get curvy …

so Benz do not name the cars after the engine anymore? It use to be the 43 mean 4.3 liter engine looks like not any more

Great and thorough car review as always. I like the way the Sedan looks better than the Coupe. Would love to see a comparison review between the C63 AMG and the GLC 63 AMG.

I own a 2017 C300 Coupe. Absolutely gorgeous, one of the most beautiful cars on the road. Love the exterior and interior. But I wouldn't buy another COMAND system Mercedes. With an MBUX system, I'd consider it (maybe).

The antics at the end were an added bonus!๐Ÿ˜œ

You could always close the trunks on powered trunks of Mercedes, at least the S-Classes as far back as 2001. I remember way back when I had my first S-Class I opened the powered trunk with the switch inside for someone outside and wondered if it would close it, if I pushed the rocker the other direction and it did, always a cool party trick.

I imagine the non amg rides better but is a second or two slower to 60?

Tom, I am a huge fan, but I'm a little disappointed that most of the car reviews you've done for the last several months are mostly luxury and/or hybrid. I'd certainly enjoy seeing you do more mainstream vehicles as part of the mix. Thanks.

Not a fan of the car, great video though!

All of your efforts do NOT go unappreciated, Tom and crew! The AMG series in any Mercedes would, just for myself, be an occasional use vehicle (i.e. weekender). For my daily driving, I prefer a vehicle that is quiet and compliant with the various road surfaces and tire options. I really love the interior of this particular AMG!

I always watch your videos more than once, there is so much packed in to one video. The photography alone takes a few passes to fully appreciate! Thank you to the Driven team, you guys rock!

Thanks for the review! I have the 2018 c43 and love it ๐Ÿ‘ as for subs, totally hear you on that. I have a career mentoring channel for recent grads and adults looking for a change and there are always production issues behind the scenes and my videos are no where as complicated as yours! Love your videos – itโ€™s got that old school vibe with a very modern touch. Great balance!

Amazing drone shot over the corn at 3:43! How many takes did that take, lolz.
Also: I know the chances are nil, but what about lifting off these horrible plastic engine covers and showing us the real guts? Can't stand those things.

A performance variant that's a viable daily driver (four comfortable seats, etc.) is my sweet spot (I like the size much better than the E, or Tesla S) and I have thought this coupe or the C43 Sedan might have been just the one. Unfortunately I livie in an apartment so can't charge my electric at home.I drive a performance variant BMW 3 series from the good old days (2004) which I'm looking to replace with something roomier than my Porsche C4S. Would have wanted to know how this sweet car would have been as a daily driver: visibility? too firm a suspension? sounds like the sport exhaust is unnecessary but good that it is optional; is it as quiet as a C without the sport exhaust? P.S. Love Tom Voelk's reviews. The most sober and in a class with only one other great journalist, Dan Neil.

I would easily fit 5 packs of softness in the back.

Hmm… That came out wrong :/
