    Is it the so called "ELV problem" for Mercs? Seems the same symptoms as you mentioned.

    The steering lock on my Q7 only lock if you turn the wheel after engine off.

    Great review! I once had a Mercedes E320 W211 2003 with only 200.000 km on the odometer, as many Mercedes owners knows is nothing for it. But this problem occured, one morning when I was going to work. I put the key in the socket and the steering did not lock up. Neither could I search the problem with OBD
