At the 43:50 in the video that was not a 16mm bolt. Metric bolts dont have slash marks on the head indicating bolt strength. This one has 6 slash marks on the head indicating its a standard grade 8 bolt.

Iโ€™m 12:30 into the video. That truck is in beautiful condition. Really nice to see.

Eric awsome video to start the weekend off with. Can't wait for more.. but In the meantime I have a 4l60e to replace in my 94 gmt400 suburban. Not a big fan of those transmissions. I'd rather a turbo400 or 700r4. Stay dirty have a great weekend๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ”ง๐Ÿ‘Œ

What does that ground cable that is connected to the thermostat for??

GMT 400, the best Chevy truck ever.. anyway.. the connectors for the motor in general, are all unique. There is no way to mess it up. The fuel injectors unplug from the top of the injectors, and the wires come out of the base of the TBI through a solid rubber plug that simply pulls out. And I disagree with the "wheezing TBI" assessment. It actually is comparable to a 650 carb. The TBI system GM came up with was excellent. Very simple, very dependable. Your gonna have more headaches with whatever you put in there, and it wont even come close to how dependable the OEM TBI is.

    LS SWAP!

Awesome video as always man. One thing I will say, even though it's probably already too late, swap out the starter for the small one while you can; the big starter is a poor design along with the tbi system in general (91 with the 350tbi and the 700r4 here lol). I'm actually planning an lm7 with 4l80e swap for mine along with a 5/7 drop and some old trans am snowflake style wheels.

Looks more complicated than I want to worry about right now…proceeds to put it back… I love it ๐Ÿ˜‚

@ericthecarguy Random Question, do you use the same gloves durring the whole process of working on vehicles or or do you change gloves durring intermission? Just curious.

You're so brittle!! Lol Highlight of the show, I'm going to use that on my coworkers.

Loos like your dad takes very special care of his truck. Just curious, will you be changing out the terminals on the side post? A bad connection due to to dirty or corrosion inside and on the terminals could be a drain that is undetectable. J/S

I have a 1988 Chevy Silverado c3500 with a stock 454 and the 3 speed automatic transmission. Iโ€™m looking forward to more videos on this because I plan on rebuilding the engine and buy a 700r4 in it. I was wanting to do a Holley sniper efi throttle body injection and not 100% sure how with the computer in the truck and if it would have issues. Guess Iโ€™ll figure out when I do it. ๐Ÿ˜‚

You must be way behind on videos as the power tour starts tomorrow and you are just now removing engine? Why are so many youtubers not current with videos?

Twist the chain to get a little more height out of the engine hoist. I have done this swap more times than I count l lay out the tools I am going to need before I get started. V6 to LS swap. Buy them expensive sell them cheap.

I always liked the old TBI small block units
The 350 was reliable and fairly good on gas
A little more power than later 4.3 vortec at a little lower rpm band
It always did well towing my bass boat
Me and my dad got 350,000+ on his TBI 350
Personally i would like one with the 5 speed for towing, but im also partially to the 6.0 although it feels with the LS engines you have to spin them up quite high to get good torque.

    Awesome truck eric
