2020 Subaru Forester Review by The Straight Pipes. The 2020 Subaru Forester is pumping out 182hp and 176lb-ft tq. At $39995, would this be your pick over …

What do you think of the updated Forester?

Like the interior but I have always had turbo manual subarus for the fun factor. The only one worth buying now for me is the wrx 6spd manual but tbh the ford focus rs is now better.

got one fo the 2020 foresters, the phone call thing really drives me crazy! the fact they prioritise that you're on a phone call over your speedo readout is just weird

The Sport is the only way to go, IMO. The chrome accents up front on the Limited/Premier is uuuh-uuuuh-gleeee

As someone who owns a base 2016 2.5i since August, can say that if you do 50-75% throttle off the line, it apparently does go faster than flooring it.
    Mines also a CVT too.

Thing is, that with a great foot on the throttle, you can get in the realm of 440+ km on a tank. It just does feel spunky.

Also kinda saddening how that middle screen on the top is now sorta messed up since the 2016 does have the middle screen up top BUT has functionality via the bottom left button ONLY (I sat in XTs of the same year as mine and they had the same thing happen)

If you want me to, I guess I can send a photo in of the interior (on IG) though since I doubt many have seen non-base models on here! (also heyo fellow Ontario lad, based in Mississauga!)

Styling so outdated. Need new look so bad. Not worth paying $30K+ for 10 year-old design.

on the base trim you have a "phone" button instead of a "map" button so you get less carplay clicks 😉

I wouldn’t be so quick to jump on the Mazda bandwagon. Had a 2015 Mazda 3 and the transmission went at 30,000 kms. Furthermore, the windshields aren’t the best and I’ve never had to fix a horn until I got a Mazda because of corrosion issues. Just traded our other Mazda in for a 2020 Forester because of all the rave reviews from Subaru owners.

The view in the WRX/STI and Forester is so much better than the Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Crosstrek. It's weird that it's so different.

I am honestly gonna keep my Automatic car. No way am I paying a pretty penny for these CVT tranys. What is up with car manufacturers cutting cost on technology that is proven to have long term issues?

Back in days Subaru focused on engine and outside body style big wings hood scoop nice body line .. these days let's make interior cool and more posh .

Here in Europe you can only get it with a 2.0 NA engine delivering 150 hp and 144 lbs/ft. Which is very good numbers, if you live in 1995.
All while its competitors have small capacity turbocharged engines that are superior in almost every single way.
And for some reason Subaru can’t get their head around why no one wants buy a Forester.

    Oh, and CVT is rubbish.
