hmm thats indeed interesting, the supra just keep pulling like it has 50+ more horses and on on top of that the launch is much better aswell. I wonder why? is it because of better aerodynamics or Toyota left there touch on the engine, gearbox etc?

It looks like Toyota has just put a slightly more aggressive engine and maybe also transmission tune in the Supra (more boost, higher rev limiter, shift point power mapping, etc). It's as simple as that.
Put both cars on the dyno and look at their tuning profile (boost, shift point rpms and power reduction of shifts – which is tuned into the transmission to make it last longer, etc). I'm sure you'll find your answers there.

What I find annoying is that everyone is trying to point out the cars are the same. But the way the engine en suspension are set up is totally different than the BMW. Also the Toyota is a LOT stiffer than the BMW. Apart from the parts, the cars are unique in their own way

In a car press interview, the chief engineer in charge of the supra development explained that indeed they received the powertrain from BMW… but that's it. Toyota developed ther car on its own with no BMW intervention at all. Toyota tuned and fined tuned everything to create the Supra.
Yes it is a BMW powertrain… but its not a BMW roadster 🙂
